"The Best Decision We've Ever Made" - Case Study
Anne & Mark's Manor Park Homes Story
Overstone Lakes, Northamptonshire
It Started With a Visit
Anne and Mark's story really begins with the people closest to them. When very dear friends moved to Overstone Lakes, the couple found themselves visiting more and more and each time they left, it became a little harder to go.
"We just kept finding ourselves here," Anne recalls. "We fell in love with the park, the atmosphere, how relaxed it made us feel. It was like nothing else we'd experienced."
What had started as regular visits to see their very close friends gradually became something more. The park had got under their skin, and the idea of making it their permanent home began to take root.
Choosing Manor Park Homes
Once the decision was made to explore park home living seriously, Anne and Mark visited the Manor Park Homes showroom and it didn't take long for them to know they'd found their manufacturer.
"It was the quality that got us straight away," says Mark. "The walls were solid. It felt like a proper home not what people imagine when they think of a park home at all. We knew immediately."
Having already read that Manor Park Homes is widely regarded as the 'Rolls Royce' of park home manufacturers, seeing it in person only confirmed what they'd heard. But it wasn't just the build quality that won them over. Meeting John and Tracey, who guided them through the process of choosing and designing their home, made all the difference.
"There was nothing Manor would not do for us," Anne says warmly. "They were absolutely brilliant they literally went above and beyond at every stage."
A Home Truly Made for Them
Anne and Mark's home is a stunning combination of the Broadway to the front and a Warkton Platinum for the bedrooms and bathroom, and it is a testament to just how flexible and personal the Manor Park Homes process can be. Rather than simply choosing from what was available, they were able to adapt and alter the design to create something that was entirely theirs.
A wall was moved to open up the space exactly as they'd envisioned. A larder was built in. Shelving was recessed neatly into the shower wall for toiletries a thoughtful touch that makes everyday life that little bit more elegant. Extra lighting was added throughout. Every detail, however small, was considered and accommodated.
"We never felt like we were asking too much," says Mark. "Whatever we wanted, Manor found a way to make it happen."
The couple were also given the opportunity to visit the Manor Park Homes factory during the build, a truly special experience that allowed them to see their dream home taking shape with their own eyes, and to appreciate first-hand the craftsmanship and care that goes into every home that leaves the Northamptonshire manufacturing site.
When the Home Arrived
The journey to completion wasn't without its pressures. When Anne and Mark's house sale moved through more quickly than anticipated, it could have created a difficult gap but the team at Allens Caravans, the owners of Overstone Lakes, stepped in without hesitation, allowing the couple to stay in a property on the park so they were already settled on site and ready for the moment their new home arrived.
And what a moment it was.
"It was so emotional," Anne smiles. "Watching our home arrive on the park it was one of those days you never forget."
Two Months In
Two months on from moving into their new home, Anne and Mark are in no doubt. The beautifully shaped decking area in the garden has become a favourite spot. The park's facilities, the pool, the walks around the lake, Zumba classes and bowls have become a natural and joyful part of their new routine. Their grandchildren visit regularly, and their life here is being embraced and enjoyed in exactly the way it should be.
"Since we moved in it has been the best decision we have ever made," Anne says simply. "The home is so spacious honestly, not much different to the house we were in before we sold."
The change in lifestyle has had a tangible effect too. At a recent doctor's appointment, Anne was told she was in perfect health something she and Mark both believe is very much down to their new way of life.
They are already planning a house warming party a celebration not just of their new home, but of every person who helped make it happen. The team at Manor Park Homes, the team at Allens Caravans, their friends and family already living at Overstone Lakes, and everyone else who has been part of this very special journey.
"We just want to bring everyone together and say thank you," says Anne. "Because this really has changed our lives."
